Councillors stand against second Britannia Point Tower Block
Many of you will also be aware of the proposed two additional towers that Criterion wanted to build next door to Britannia Point, also known as the Colliers Wood Tower. Whilst their latest proposal has yet to be made public, your Labour councillors and MP in Colliers Wood stand firmly against Criterion having any further footprint in this community. We, your councillors and MP, will campaign with the community in Colliers Wood so that no additional towers are built next to the Tower. We know talking to residents this is not what you want, but would like to see something that the community can benefit from instead. Criterion have a poor record of looking after their residents and treating others with any sort of respect and we will be strongly opposing another development that will see more residents in Colliers Wood exposed to their shocking behaviour.
As many residents will have seen, Britannia Point is still surrounded by scaffolding, months after the near tragedy when a pane of glass fell from its 13th floor and smashed onto the pavement below. The owners of the building , Criterion Capital, are still refusing to carry out the repair work that, that would allow the scaffolding to be re-moved. Merton Council is now forced to consider legal action to ensure the work is done.
