Show your support for Lillie’s Law
In 2021 our community was rocked by the tragic death of 21-year-old Lillie Clack, who was fatally injured on Christmas Day by a drunk driver, who was allowed to continue driving for over a year following her death.
Since then, Lillie’s mum Debbie and auntie Donna have campaigned tirelessly for a law change. “Lillie’s Law” calls for driving licenses to be confiscated on the spot for those found to have caused an accident under the influence of drink or drugs until at least the completion of any court case. Over 40,000 people signed a petition launched by Debbie calling for Lillie’s Law to be implemented.
As a result of the petition, Siobhain took Debbie and Donna to meet Lilian Greenwood, the Minister for Road Safety, to discuss Lillie’s Law. The Minister is supportive and will include the proposal in her department’s upcoming road safety review.
If you would like to lend your support to Debbie and Donna, please send Siobhain a message using the button below.
