Upcoming Coffee Morning in Figge’s Marsh

Figge’s Marsh

As always, there is a lot going on in Mitcham, what with Clarion Housing Association plans to demolish and rebuild Majestic Way (including the multistorey car park), the police dealing with antisocial behaviour and street drinking, and Merton Council making plans to improve street sweeping. These are just some of the reasons why I would like to invite you to join me at a coffee morning on Saturday 8th March, 10:30am, at St Mark’s Church, St Mark’s Road, Mitcham, CR4 2LF.

Joining me will be your local councilors Agatha, Franca, and Dan who will be on hand to answer any local questions or take on any individual problems. Also with me will be:

  • Clarion Housing Association who will present their current plans to bring new homes and shops to the town centre.

  • Mitcham Police Inspector Kevin Chambers will be telling us about the work his officers are doing to tackle antisocial behaviour and street drinking. I know that he will be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

  • Mitcham Town Centre Manager Mark Warren will be on hand to discuss his plans for events and development of the market whilst other council staff will be providing more information about Merton’s plans to take back control of street sweeping in April.

So as I said, there’s a lot going on. Please come along and if possible, let your friends and neighbours know about the coffee morning. Everyone is warmly welcome.
