Children’s Week in the Houses of Parliament

Mitcham & Morden

The school summer holidays can be expensive and lots of families tell us that they are looking for days out for their children before they go back to school. That’s why, every year, Siobhain invites hundreds of families to the Houses of Parliament for her annual ‘Children’s Days’.

This summer we saw unprecedented demand for places on the Children’s Days, with more than 600 parents and children visiting for days of quizzes, games and behind the scenes tours. We’re glad that there was such positive feedback on the week and both children and adults enjoyed themselves.

Throughout the year, Siobhain endeavours to ensure Parliament is open for anybody who would like to visit and she has taken thousands of local residents on visits and tours of the building over the years, to explain the workings of Parliament and how you can have your voice heard. Most recently, she welcomed the Gurkha’s of the South London Nepalese Association to the Commons and the Lords - it was an honour to host them!

If you, your family or a group that you are involved in would like to visit the Houses of Parliament, please feel free to email Siobhain on siobhain.mcdonagh.mp@parliament.uk.
